Colored Pencil Drawings

I found an actual photo of these pumas in a nature book, and I was drawn to the colors. Tans and golds, with the beautiful blue sky and white snow, so I had to try my hand at drawing it. This is the result.
I have always felt spiritually drawn to wolves. At the time I drew this, my oldest son had been away from home for quite a while and I was missing him.

This is drawing was inspired by my reading "Women Who Run With the Wolves" By Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

My first wolf portrait also based on a photograph.
My husband is known as "The Big 'Ol Bear" in our family and I drew this for him. I wasn't really happy with the way it was working out so, I never completely finished it.

This is my second attempt in graphite.

This drawing was inspired by a Bible verse, Psalm 57:7
"My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast.
I will sing and give praise,
Awake, my glory!
Awake, Lute and harp!
I will awaken the dawn."

This is a drawing that I have re-done more than once. This is the final, completed, version.

This is a fantasy portrait of my youngest daughter, done whern she was only four years old.

This is a portrait of my oldest daughter, done when she was 19 years old.

Portrait of my husband, done after our honeymoon. (19 years ago!)

Random drawing .

When my second son was born, I did several drawings with the idea of eventually painting one of them as a mural on his nursery wall. By the time I got around to deciding what to paint, he had outgrown his nursery.

My oldest daughter loved Mercer Mayer books and I did the next two drawings for her based on coloring book pages.

Another Mercer Myer drawing

There was a time when I was writing alot of letters, I love fall, so I designed this as my personal stationery.

I began this drawing as just a doodle (of the rose) a couple of years later, I added the waterfall and background to it.

Another random doodle inspired by my daily Bible devotions.

Painted Pumpkins

My Youngest son's favorite Movie is Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas." Shortly after I painted this pumpkin it disappeared into his bedroom and I haven't seen it since.

This is a pumpkin that I painted to use in our anual Halloween Yard Haunt this year. To see photos of Our Howling Hollow Asylum Yard Haunt, click on the link to the right.
This pumkin was inspired by a bit of Halloween Clip art that I found on the Internet. We have many Hispanic neighbors, so skeleton themes are very popular for Dias de los Muertos.

I have always, absolutely LOVED, Scooby-Doo, so I HAD to paint a few pumpkins with Scooby and Shaggy.

When I taught preschool, our class room was Themed with D.J. Inker's clip art, this is one of the pumpkins that I painted (also based on D.J. Inker clip art) to use as table decorations for our anual Thanksgiving party.

Another Thanksgiving Pumpkin that was used a a center peice for our Church's Thanksgiving Dinner.

I painted this pumpkin for a friend who had fond memories of building scarecrows with her family for Halloween.

I painted this pumpkin to match the Window Clings that fill my dinning room window. It spends every October as our table center peice, surrounded by his other Batty friends.
Another Scooby and Shaggy pumpkin.

Another D.J Inker themed Thanksgiving pumpkin.

This is a "Veggie Tales, Bob and Larry Pumpkin." Every year I paint several of them for our Church to raffle off at their Anual Hosana Party that they put together as a Halloween alternative.

I had a customer request a Halloween pumpkin with a ghost theme. The ghost is inspired by a tin Halloween decoration that she brought me.

Painted Rocks

Several Years ago, I came across a book on rock painting. I was so inspired by some of the artist's photos that I decided to try it myself. All of the following photos are actual rocks that I found and painted based on the rocks natural shapes. (none of them have been altered except by adding my painting. Many of the rocks that I have painted have been used for garden decorations, paperweights, or just shelf sitters. After they are painted, they are sprayed with a clear gloss enamel that makes them weather proof.
